Egress Window and Basement Window Guide
- Initial phone conversation to go over basics and answer any questions you may have.
- Kruse Construction then visits your home. We go over design, placement, drainage, sizing, window well options, window well cover options, building codes in your city, product options and timeline. We will give you all of the information you need to make an informed decision including; options, possible complications, time line etc
- If you decide Kruse Construction is a good fit for your project we are ready to begin with a contract. The contract will provide you with each detail of your project, including price and contracted work. Any changes made throughout the process will be documented with a change order.
- Based on your jobs specific needs and the city of residence we then take all necessary steps needed to assure your project meets all standards and codes. We will send the information to a licensed structural engineer to begin drawings.
- Once all of the drawings are completed and approved, we will begin the process of pulling permits
- We will take steps to cover and protect your home from excessive dirt and debris.
- All of the labor, digging, installation, concrete cutting, hauling away of several hundred pounds (in most cases) of dirt and cement.
- Upon completion of the installation of your new egress window(s) we will do an extensive cleaning of all of the construction areas. You won’t have to lift a finger when you use our company.
Option:
- Finish interior trim work by repairing any drywall, repainting area surrounding window, and installing trim. This option will be used for basements already finished, so that our work does not disturb the beauty and finished look of your basement, you won’t be able to tell anything was done, except by looking at your big, bright, beautiful new window!
Of course each homeowner, home, and situation has different variables, and no project is ever the same. We do not take a “cookie cutter” approach as everyone’s specific needs may vary. So the above steps may sometimes be modified to best suit you and your project. You can always expect the utmost professional and friendly customer service from Kruse Construction’s team. Our work on your basement egress window will have a warranty that lasts 2 years from the completion date.
